Keeping your Solitaire writing instrument untarnished. Silver is subject to oxidation. This process, known as “tarnishing”, is a natural characteristic of silver and can therefore occur with Montblanc writing instruments made of silver and gold-plated sterling silver (vermeil). For this reason, Montblanc has included a special polishing cloth which allows you to remove stains quickly and effectively. When used gently, without applying pressure, this polishing cloth, made from specially treated soft fabric, promises flawless shine and long-term protection against future oxidation. If the silver is badly tarnished, simply wet a corner of the cloth to remove oxides. Then use the remaining dry portion for a finishing touch. In time, with repeated use, the polishing cloth will become black. However, its polishing and protective effect will not be lost. The cloth need not, and should not be washed.
The item has been thoroughly cleaned and professionally sanitized. All purchased pieces are fresh and ready to wear.
